Community Calendars
Great Start recognizes the importance of community involvement and the value of opportunities for families to learn and grow together. We have created these community calendars as a way to share timely community events with you. If you know of any events please take time to add them to our community calendar or forward the information to gsevents@dsisd.net. Please encourage the agencies and organizations that you partner with to do so as well so we can have a comprehensive one stop shop for early childhood information in our communities.

Holiday Magic Laser Light Show
December 14 @ 6:50 pm - 8:15 pm
Join us for a family-friendly laser show with a holiday theme! This highly popular program features a mix of everyone’s favorite holiday music and gives new meaning to “holiday lights.”
All seats are $10.40! Add on a pair of laser glasses you can keep for $1. Seating is limited! Get your tickets in advance!
Doors open 15 minutes before the show's start time. No late entry. No refunds.
Please plan accordingly and arrive at least 10 minutes before the show's start time. Doors lock at show start.
To protect the safety and provide the best possible experience to all of our guests, you will not be allowed to re-enter if you must leave the show after it has begun.
Unredeemed tickets are invalidated once a show has begun and will be considered a donation to the planetarium if not checked in before the show's start time.
This event is a fundraiser for the Shiras Planetarium. All funds collected go toward sustaining the planetarium operations.
Enter the Shiras Planetarium through the auxiliary gym entrance (door #11) at the southeast corner of Marquette Senior High School (1203 W Fair Ave, Marquette, MI 49855).
Please note: Volume levels will be high, and some imagery will be intense. Please be aware that laser lights and strobes might cause seizures. They are not recommended for guests under 13 without a parent present.
