Community Calendars
Great Start recognizes the importance of community involvement and the value of opportunities for families to learn and grow together. We have created these community calendars as a way to share timely community events with you. If you know of any events please take time to add them to our community calendar or forward the information to gsevents@dsisd.net. Please encourage the agencies and organizations that you partner with to do so as well so we can have a comprehensive one stop shop for early childhood information in our communities.

MSU Extension’s Extras Parenting Hour
April 15 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
This free series of parenting workshops will provide parenting guidance for parents of young children as they navigate the joys, challenges and concerns of parenting. Participants may register for as few or as many workshops as they wish. The workshops are as follows:
April 8: ABC’s of Early Literacy
April 15: Mathematics for Infants and Toddlers
April 22: Screen Time for Young Children
April 29: Positive Discipline
May 6: Together We Can: Co-Parenting
May 13: Introduction to HOPE (resilience building)
May 20: Purpose of Play
May 27: Let's Talk: Parent and Provider Communication
June 3: How Children Develop
June 10: Essential Skills for Learning and Life
June 17: Introduction to Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences
June 24: Unlocking the Conversation: Gun Safety for Parents
