Community Calendars
Great Start recognizes the importance of community involvement and the value of opportunities for families to learn and grow together. We have created these community calendars as a way to share timely community events with you. If you know of any events please take time to add them to our community calendar or forward the information to gsevents@dsisd.net. Please encourage the agencies and organizations that you partner with to do so as well so we can have a comprehensive one stop shop for early childhood information in our communities.

Register For Baby Classes-Chippewa Co.
April 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Chippewa County Heath Department is proud to offer the following 5 classes. These classes hold beneficial information that will help you to have a successful, healthy pregnancy, labor and delivery and help with those first few weeks with your new baby.
- Breastfeeding Success- Start dates: 4/10, 5/8, 6/12, 8/14, 9/11, 10/9, and 11/13: Attend anytime during your pregnancy. Learn techniques for a successful start to breastfeeding in the hospital and the first few weeks.
- Early Prenatal Class -Start dates: 4/4, 5/2, 6/6, 8/1, 9/5, 10/3, and 11/7; Recommended to attend the first 15 weeks of pregnancy. Learn about the different stages of your pregnancy, caring for yourself and how to have a healthy pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding Pump Class- Start dates: 4/24, 5/22, 6/26, 8/28, 10/23, & 11/27: Recommended to attend the last trimester of pregnancy. Receive education on pumping for returning to work or school. This class will help to sustain your milk supply.
- Baby Care Class-Start dates: 4/18, 5/16, 6/20, 8/15, 9/19, and 10/17; Recommended to attend the last trimester of pregnancy. Learn the basics for caring for your newborn. Safe sleep, bathing, diapering, car seat safety, basic safety and age-appropriate play.
- Lamaze Class (Tuesdays)- Recommended to attend between 26-28 weeks of pregnancy. This lecture and physical activity class will help you to prepare for the birth of your baby and your role as a parent. Dates: April 02, 09, 16 & 23; May 07, 14, 21 & 28; June 04, 11, 18 & 25; August 06, 13, 20 & 27; September 03, 10, 17 & 24; October 01, 08, 15, 22; November 05, 12 19 & 26
