Early-On

Early On is an early intervention program for infants and children 0-3 years of age, with developmental delay(s) and/or an established condition. If you are worried that your child seems “behind” compared to other children their age, this would be the time to refer to Early On for an evaluation. Early On offers early intervention services for infants, toddlers, and their families. If an infant or toddler is found eligible for Early On Services, the next step would be writing a family plan, or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), to help them. In Early On, parents and professionals work together to coordinate services for their child and family. Don’t worry, but don’t wait!

Child Find

Child Find is a free screening for preschool children ages 0-5 suspected of having a delay in speech, motor, cognitive, emotional, or social development. Screenings are held at various times throughout the year at the Intermediate School District cooperatively with the Department of Public Health. At this screening, a child’s hearing, speech, and developmental skills are assessed to help determine the best programs and services for the child or if a more in-depth evaluation is needed. Further assessment may include an evaluation by a Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker or another consultant. An in-depth evaluation will result in recommendations for the best programming and services available for your child, free of charge. Services that may be recommended include Home-based infant and toddler services, classroom-based programs, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Social Work services.
