Services Provided

The KARS program provides low-cost car seats to U.P. children.

Michigan law requires children be properly buckled in a car seat or booster until they are 8 years old or 4'9″ tall. Children must ride in a car seat or booster until they meet the age or height requirement, which ever comes first. Car seats are available through WIC (Women, Infants and Children program) or a participating location. Extended family may also receive a discounted seat.  For information and details contact  your WIC coordinator or call 231-715-1620 or email upcps@gmail.com for Delta, Schoolcraft. Alger, Chippewa, Luce, Mackinac, Marquette & Menominee Counties or contact  906-483-1395 or japruner@sbcglobal.net for Iron, Dickinson, Baraga, Ontonagon, Houghton Keweenaw or Gogebic Counties.
