9/7/19 & 10/5/19 Happy Tails Story Time 10:30am -11:15am at the Delta Animal Shelter meets on the 1st Saturday of the month for kids ages 3-5 years old. Features animal related stories, activities and an opportunity to meet some animal guests.

9/7 & 9/14/19 UP International Raceway Gates open at 5pm, racing starts at 6pm at the UP Fairgrounds. $6, 10 and under free. or visit them on Facebook.

9/8/19 Escanaba Township Fire Department Open House 11am-4pm Located at 8189 p5 Rd, Gladstone. Fire fighting and K-9 demonstrations, fire extinguisher training, firetrucks, police cars and helicopter. Bounce house, Smokey the Bear and much more! Stop in get a hot dog, chips and pop, ask questions and have fun!

9/10/19 Bay College Health & Wellness Fair 11 AM to 2 PM in the Besse Center. Learn about local resources from numerous community service agencies, as well as the many personal and professional opportunities they offer. Attendees encouraged to bring resumes for on-site interviews. For more information contact

9/11/19 Muscle on Main Classic Car & Bike Night 5:30pm at Catmando's in downtown Escanaba. Raffles, food, prizes and lots of fun! Proceeds to benefit local cause.

9/12, 9/19, 9/26/19 Toddler Art and Music at the Bonifas Runs Thursdays 9:30am10:15am though 12/26/19. Toddlers ages mobile though age 3 and their caregivers enjoy creative play activities and music fun! Lead by professional teachers and musicians, toddlers will be learning and nurturing imagination, problem solving and developing motor skills. Art stations and music provide hands on fun. Student fee: $5 per day. Registration: $5 Walk-ins welcome.

9/12/19 Kids Bowl Free Night 5pm-9pm at Bowl-a-Rama. Kids bowl free with each paying adult. $1 each for hot dogs, fries and small soda. The 3rd Thursday of each month. Visit Bowl-a-Rama on Facebook for more details.

9/12/19 YMCA Pee Wee Football 6pm-7pm Runs Thursdays 9/12/19-10/10/19 at Hannahville Ice & Turf Room. Co-ed team for ages 4-Kindergarten $31 Members/$62 Gen Public. A great introduction to game fundamentals. Not league play includes a shirt. Regular youth football leagues for grades 1st-6th begins 9/14/19 and run to 10/26/19. Contact 906-789-0005 for details.
9/14/19 Lego Club 10:30am-12pm at the Escanaba Library (monster villains theme) for children ages 5 and up with caregiver. Bring a gallon sized zip lock bag of Legos and create together. No registration required.

9/14/19 Escanaba Public Library Back to School Open House 11am-1pm This free event celebrates Library Card Sign-Up Month and includes storytelling, music, healthy snacks, free books and more. 9/15/19 Rock Lion’s Club Brunch 9am-1pm monthly on the 3rd Sunday at Rock Lion’s Club on Hwy M-35 in Rock. All you can eat breakfast buffet- eggs, omelets made to order, bacon, sausage, ham, hash brown potatoes, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, French toast, English muffins, cereal, a variety of fruits, dessert items, coffee, tea, milk and juice. Adults $8, ages 6-12, $5, ages 5 and under eat free.

9/17/19 United Way Soup’r Chili Challenge 5pm-7pm Ruth Butler Building at UP Fairgrounds $25 for family, $10 for adults, 5 and under free. Marvel superhero theme. Games, raffles, bounce house and free fries. All the soup and chili you can eat!

9/17 & 9/19/19 1st Aid and CRP Training 6pm-9pm at YMCA. 6 hours of basic CPR training for adult and pediatric First Aid & AED training. Learn how to help in emergency situations. Ages 14 & up. All classes are mandatory. $125 Members $200 General Public.

9/18, & 9/25/19 MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets every Wednesday beginning 9/18 from 6:30pm-7:45pm at New Life Church in Escanaba. Childcare available. Find them on Facebook (Delta County MOPS) for the most up to date information and events.

9/19/19 Delta County Great Start Parent Coalition Meeting 6pm-7:30pm at the DSISD. Amber Quigley, Speech and Language Pathologist, will discuss Language and Early Literacy Skills for Busy Parents Building School Ready Kids! 9/20/19 Escanaba Homecoming Parade 5pm Parade route moves down Ludington St. weather permitting.

9/21/19 Ford Airport Day Fly/Drive-In Fly-in & Custom Car Show 8am-4pm 400 Riverhills Rd., Iron Mountain Breakfast 8-10/lunch 11:30-2; lots of activities for the kids plus displays and Warbirds; aerobatic aircraft.
