Community Calendars
Great Start recognizes the importance of community involvement and the value of opportunities for families to learn and grow together. We have created these community calendars as a way to share timely community events with you. If you know of any events please take time to add them to our community calendar or forward the information to gsevents@dsisd.net. Please encourage the agencies and organizations that you partner with to do so as well so we can have a comprehensive one stop shop for early childhood information in our communities.

Summer Street Party
You're Invited - Summer Street Party
Limestone FCU, Schoolcraft Tourism and Commerce, and the Manistique Merchants will be co-hosting the first Summer Street Party of the year on Friday, June 13, 2025. The Summer Street Party will be in the social district of Manistique, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This event is open to the entire community.
Guests can expect bean bag toss, a live music performance from a local Manistique favorite – the 2nd Edition band, a pop-up shop with NC Jewelry, a pop-up lemonade stand with The Cake Lady at 19 Acres, and so much more! Limestone FCU, Schoolcraft Tourism and Commerce, and the Manistique Merchants encourage the community to invite friends, family, and colleagues from all over to attend this year’s Summer Street Party.

🍋 Pop-up Lemonade Stand with The Cake Lady At 19 Acres.
🎯 Bean bag toss & yard games.
