Delta-Schoolcraft Great Start is proud to bring “Talking is Teaching; Talk, Read, Sing,” a research-based literacy campaign to our community. Talking is Teaching was developed to increase everyone’s knowledge about the importance of talking, reading and interacting with young children beginning at birth. The more words a child hears, the more connections their brain makes. Hearing lots of words makes all learning easier, in fact, it actually builds the brain to be able to learn more! Engaging our kids also builds essential connections with people which nurture them to grow thriving and happy. Tuning in, talking more and taking turns by responding to a child’s needs is a simple recipe for success. It gives kids a great start in school and life!
